Time for stern action against
Pakistan: BJP chief
Jammu,
Dec 16 (IANS) Describing Pakistan's repeated refusal to hand
over terrorists wanted by India as a reflection of its traditional
adamancy, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh
Tuesday demanded stern action against Islamabad.
"The
time has come to take stern action against Pakistan for its
complete disrespect of world opinion and call for action against
terrorists on Pakistani soil," Singh told media persons
during an election rally.
Singh
said there is "a limit to tolerance and patience".
"Pakistan has also shown indifference to the world leaders'
call to act against terrorists and the time has come to take
Pakistan to task for it," he said.
He
was referring to the United States and Britain asking Pakistan
to act against elements based on its territory in the wake
of the Mumbai terror attacks in which more than 170 people
were killed.
On
Monday, he addressed rallies in Doda district where he asked
voters to reject the "communal and Kashmir-centric political
groups like National Conference, Congress and People's Democratic
Party (PDP)."
The
BJP president claimed that his party was getting "good
response from the people".
The
sixth phase of the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir will
be held Dec 17 and the last on Dec 24.
