brand launched to symbolise Abu Dhabi's 2030 vision

Dubai, Sep 16 (IANS) The urban planning body of Abu Dhabi
has launched a new brand to symbolise the long-term vision
of the capital city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as stipulated
in Plan Abu Dhabi 2030.
The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) unveiled its new
corporate brand and logo to help communicate Plan Abu Dhabi
2030's key principles, including preserving the area's delicate
ecology, ensuring economic sustainability, enhancing transport
links, increasing public open spaces and fostering UAE culture,
a UPC statement here said.
"Although created by the UPC, this new brand will be
owned by the people of Abu Dhabi, it will become an inspiring
image of our collective vision for a harmonious, diversified,
culturally rich, stable and sustainable society," Falah
Al Ahbabi, UPC general manager, said in the statement.
Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 is a comprehensive plan launched by the
emirate of Abu Dhabi for the development of the city of Abu
Dhabi through the next quarter of a century.
The UPC was launched to oversee the implementation of the
plan and the further development of urban planning policy.
Through 10 individual policy statements, the plan specifies
land uses, building heights and transportation plans for the
entire metropolitan area of Abu Dhabi.
Under the plan, the city is projected to grow to over three
million people by 2030.
As such, the plan provides for large new areas of housing
for UAE nationals, inspired by the traditional family structures
of the local community, and a diverse mix of affordable housing
options for all the citizens and residents of Abu Dhabi.
The newly launched logo that has been launched has the word
'Vision' incorporated in it.
The new brand is endorsed by the Abu Dhabi brand and complements
its added value, the UPC statement said.
"The choice of colours illustrates the confluence of
Abu Dhabi's marine and desert environments, emphasising sustainable
and controlled development policies within the plan that will
preserve the emirate's physical and cultural identity,"
The logo will now be featured across all Plan 2030 marketing
collateral and become a mark of differentiation for projects
that comply with the Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 framework's vision.
